Presentation (English)

« A music group united around the Indian singer Tulika, A fragrance of freshness between the traditional India and the modern West.  »

Based in Paris and created at the initiative of Tulika Srivastava, young Indian singer and composer keenly interested and trained in North Indian traditional music since her very childhood, the music group TULIKATUNES oscillates dextrously between the traditional and the modern and remains acoustic while caressing a few notes of electro. TrilingualTulikatunes proposes its compositions in three different languages: Hindi, English and French. This specificity makes Tulikatunes a group which is unique in its style.

Open to travels and cultural exchanges, the group plays for festivals, events, evenings: Festival Les Heures Musicales De L'abbaye De Bourgueil, Festival Art Rock (Bretagne), Peniche Antipode, Centre Mandapa, Maison populaire ...

One part of the repertory is constituted of improvisations around traditional indian themes, while the other part is constituted of Tulika's own compositions. A few songs of this group were also produced by " Believe" and its first disc has just finished being recorded.

TulikaTunes proposes two versions of the same repertory: a traditional indian sound and the other, an indian-world fusion sound and adapts itself to play in duo, trio, quatuor, quintet, sextet ou septet .
